Terms and Conditions of use
a) Access to the collection
The RAP is a collection of samples in the form of
slides, materials, images and documents held at Cefas Weymouth Laboratory. Unfortunately
it is not possible to provide individuals with slides or material from the
registry due to limited resources. Cefas
is unable to loan material or provide re-cuts or specialist stains to
individuals because many items submitted to the RAP represent a unique
occurrence or small amounts of tissue and consequently are irreplaceable. The RAP enables the scientific community to
access a wide range of samples via Internet interactions and visits to Cefas
Weymouth Laboratory. If you would like
further information about visiting the RAP collection please contact us.
Unless otherwise specified, images and documents
acquired from the RAP or received upon request are available free of
charge. If you would like to use any
data or images from this site then please contact us.
b) Data policy
Images should not be reproduced or downloaded without
prior arrangement. Reproduction of this material is limited to academic and
educational uses only and not for any commercial purposes without permission
from Cefas. Material should not be reproduced without acknowledgement of the
source of the material, in the following format:
RAP Accession Number 14, Registry of Aquatic
Pathology, Cefas Weymouth Laboratory. © crown copyright. Contributor name,
title and professional affiliation.
The material is provided "as
is" and in no event shall Cefas be liable for any damages, including,
without limitation, any disruption, damage and/or loss to your data or computer
system that may occur while using this site or data. Cefas makes no warranty,
express or implied, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for
a particular purpose; nor assumes any legal liability or responsibility for the
accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any data, information, apparatus,
product, or process disclosed; nor represents that its use would not infringe
the rights of any third party.
Where materials and data within the RAP collection
have already been incorporated into scientific publications, it is the
responsibility of the users of such items to identify and examine prior
copyright claims and avoid copyright infringements.
Terms and conditions of submission
All specimens and materials donated for inclusion in
the RAP will, upon receipt, become the property of the RAP and Cefas and are crown
copyright. It is the responsibility of the contributor to ensure that there are
no copyright or other ownership restrictions on submitted materials. The RAP
reserves the right to decline to add specimens to the collection.
It is assumed that a
contributor who donates specimens or materials to the RAP gives permission to
Cefas to publish, or to otherwise reveal to the public, his or her name, title,
and professional or institutional affiliation in connection with the submitted
items, unless confidentiality is requested by the contributor and agreed in
advance by the RAP.
The contributor's contact information such as
telephone numbers or e-mail addresses will not be published or otherwise
revealed to the public unless specifically authorised in writing by the
contributor. The terms of Cefas data handling policy apply.
